Another Hawaiian moment
I'm going into Town tommorrow, hopefully I can get some shots of Kewalo's.... Hope you enjoy the pics, I wish I had a better zoom...Aloha!
HB! Those are some fine pic's, man, keep 'em flowing! Looks like some decent surf for Mother's Day.
Aloha,

O.k. Here's a couple shots today. Nothing great but what the hell...
This one is at Sandy's. Guy at top of wave is getting totally blown out of the wave. He did a 1 and a half somersault in the air before landing in front of the wave. You could hear the screams all over the beach. Doesn't quite give the size element of today, but take into account there's only about a half a foot of water underneath him. He's about to eat sand.
Here's a shot of Kewalo's. The swell wasn't really hitting it at this moment, but it's still a pretty moment in time.
Here's a shot of outside Sandys..I believe it's called Generals(?) You can see a guy has just made the drop and is getting ready to hit the bottom turn...
Here's another wave at Sandys.. No one on this one, but if you look right at the bottom of where the wave is about to break, you can see a head of a guy about to duck under. (Looks like a black speck..) Big enough for ya?![]()

Greetings from this fellow glider from PT. Been surfing this forum for some time now, and guessed this was as good a moment as any other to register and post for the first time.
I'm hoping for all of you to have good waves for the coming weekend, as I'm hoping to have myself![]()
Hey Haoleboy, I was just taking a look at your pictures , which are awsome and bring back great memories (I need to move). The one that caught my eye was the guy doing a somersault at Sandy's mainly because I did the same fricken thing when I was surfing at Sandy's last year. I feel bad for the poor guy. Was he alright? Nice pics btw and keep 'em coming!
A hui hou kakou
Yeah, he was all right. I think he kinda did a controled somersault. He popped up and swam out for more abuse. I'll try and get some more shots soon..surfs pretty small all over right now though. Glad you like the pics! New Joisy is a bit different than Hawaii Nei I bet!
Welcome to The Glide Dr. Looks like a good wave for the noseride in that pic. My mother's family is from Terceira in the Azores & I'd like to go there and to the mainland and see some family and surf. I wonder how the surf is on the island?

Hi Ron, thanks for your reply. I have not yet surfed the islands, but from what I've heard from many friends, it can be a wonderfull experience, if you like good waves, clean water, fishing for your meals, and a bit of solitude, as the best waves are away from the main cities. I'm attaching a photo of one of the best setups and most popular surfing destinations in Azores (no waves in the photo, but plenty of surf potential)
Howzit Doc! Welcome to the Glide! I hope I can visit Portugal one day. It looks like a beautiful place! What's the water temp there these days? Is Portugal a year round surf, and which season is best? Hows the crowds?:eye:

Sorry for all the questions...Portugal is one of those still-magical places for me.
ALOHA!!!
We were blessed with a nice off season swell on the north shore yesterday, here's a sample-

Damn Bud! Those are some fine lookin' waves you shot! Lots of my friends caught it too. They enjoyed telling me how bad I missed it. Said the water was all nasty from the Lake draining, but it looks so nice there. Man.. I gotta surf the North Shore again one day....sigh.

Aloha all!
Here's some shots from Fri. afternoon. Swell had dropped a bit, but still some nice ones.
Who can name this spot? (EZ for the local crew..)
One more..wish you were here...
Pretty!!
This guy was ruling the peak. I was there watching for 10 minutes and saw him catch at least 4 waves in the packed house. On this wave, I caught him hitting the lip... moments later it hit the shallow inside, he got stuck at the lip, it super pitched and sent him unceremoniously to the briny deep. Lots of people oo'd at his fate. I quietly chuckled.
NICE shots everyone!!! Wow, it's amazing the waves some people get around this great big world.
My pic's not an amazing wave, but the surfer is absolutely amazing... he's been rippin' around FB, SC for about 15 years now, and he's my honey![]()
